Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, every agency must have a privacy officer. That's me. If you have a question about your data, I'm the person who answers it.

We only collect what you give us directly:

• Email address — required for newsletter signup, RSVP, pilot applications, contact form, and resource downloads.
• First name — optional, used to personalise emails.
• Message content — if you use the contact form.

We don't collect phone numbers, payment details (handled entirely by third-party processors), demographics, or anything from your device beyond standard server logs (IP address, browser type, page visited).

We never collect personal information about you from third parties. If that ever changes (e.g., a referral program), we'll notify you directly as required by IPP 3A of the Privacy Act 2020.

Your data is only used for the purpose you gave it. Specifically:

• Newsletter signup — the Monday letter + a 3-email welcome drip. Nothing else.
• Call RSVP — a confirmation email and the Zoom link. You are not added to the newsletter.
• Pilot application — follow-up about Night Shift. You are not added to the newsletter.
• Contact form — a reply from Billy. You are not added to any list.
• Resource download — the download link + one follow-up email. That's it.

We don't cross-pollinate lists. Signing up for one thing doesn't opt you into everything else. Each flow is separate.

Your data is processed and stored by services based in the United States. Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 (IPP 12), we may only disclose personal information overseas if the recipient provides comparable privacy safeguards.

We've reviewed the privacy policies and data processing agreements of each provider below. Each maintains industry-standard security practices, encryption in transit and at rest, and contractual data protection commitments.

This site does not set first-party cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookie-free. Third-party services (Beehiiv, Vercel) may set minimal cookies for functionality — we don't use them for tracking or advertising.

Your email and signup history are kept for as long as you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe, your data is removed from our active lists. Internal event logs (e.g., “signed up via homepage on May 2”) may be retained for analytics but are never shared externally and contain no sensitive information.

You can request deletion of all your data at any time by emailing billy@buildwithbilly.ai. We'll action it within 5 working days across all services (Beehiiv, Resend, Airtable) and confirm by email when it's done.

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you can:

• Unsubscribe — one click at the bottom of every email. Immediate.
• Request access (IPP 6) — ask what data we hold about you. We'll respond within 20 working days.
• Request correction (IPP 7) — if something's wrong, we'll fix it.
• Request deletion — we'll remove everything across all services and confirm.
• Complain — if you're not satisfied with how we've handled your data, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

If you're in the EU (GDPR) or California (CCPA), we respect those rights too. In practice, we treat everyone the same: your data, your call.

Every privacy request is logged and tracked to completion. We take this seriously.

If a data breach occurs that is likely to cause serious harm, we are legally required under the Privacy Act 2020 to notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and all affected individuals. We will do so as quickly as possible, and no later than required by law.

We maintain a register of third-party data processors and the scope of data each holds, so we can assess and respond to any breach rapidly.

This site is not directed at anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from children.

If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top. We won't email you about policy updates unless they meaningfully affect how your data is used — and if they do, we'll explain the change in plain english, not legalese.

Build With Billy provides a free newsletter, a free monthly video call, free downloadable resources, and (optionally) paid products like Night Shift. By using this site or subscribing, you agree to these terms.

The Monday letter, the monthly call, the starter kit, and the resources on this site are free. No credit card. No trial that auto-converts. Free means free.

We reserve the right to stop, change, or pause any free offering at any time. If we do, we'll let you know — but there's no obligation to keep running something forever just because it was free.

Night Shift and any future paid products are sold through third-party payment processors. Refund terms are stated on each product page. The founding pilot has a 30-day refund policy.

You own your data and your install. We don't revoke access to products you've paid for.

Don't use this site to harm others, send spam through our tools, or misrepresent your identity. Don't scrape the site or abuse the API endpoints. That's about it.

The content on this site — writing, design, code structure, brand — belongs to Story Shapers Ltd. The Monday letter is for your personal use, not for republishing.

Free resources and starter kits are yours to use in your own projects. You can't resell them as-is.

This site shares what works for one person on a farm in New Zealand. It's not professional advice. AI tools change fast — what works today might not tomorrow. Use your judgement.

We don't guarantee uptime, specific results, or that any tool or workflow will work for your situation. The site and all content are provided as-is.

To the extent permitted by New Zealand law, Story Shapers Ltd.'s total liability for any claim related to this site or its products is limited to the amount you've paid us (which, for the free stuff, is zero). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of New Zealand.

Email billy@buildwithbilly.ai with the subject line “Delete my data” and the email address you signed up with. That's all we need.

We will remove your data from all of these:

• Beehiiv — your subscription, tags, and email history.
• Resend — any scheduled or queued emails to you.
• Airtable — your lead record and all associated touch events.

Standard server logs (IP addresses in Vercel/Cloudflare) expire automatically and are not linked to your identity.

We'll complete the deletion within 5 working days and send you a confirmation email when it's done. Every deletion request is logged internally for our audit trail.

• Unsubscribe — one click at the bottom of any email. Immediate. Removes you from future sends but doesn't delete stored data.
• Full deletion — email us. We wipe everything.

Unsubscribing and deletion are different. Unsubscribing stops emails. Deletion removes your data entirely.
